The existing layshaft seal design is a cork gasket that seals for a limited time before it becomes saturated with oil and begins to leak. This is a real problem because of the time required to remove the injector control bracket assembly in order to replace the gasket.
The Durox Layshaft Seal with Oil Deflector Sleeve (#DE11811) is a rubber seal with beads that is impervious to oil. The sleeve acts as an oil deflector that prevents oil from leaking out of the application. The combined rubber seal and oil deflecting sleeve is designed to remain “leak free” from overhaul to overhaul.
